We’re thrilled to introduce Rachel Hoffman, a dedicated and experienced Montessori
guide who brings over 24 years of teaching experience to Grasshopper Montessori.
Rachel’s journey into early childhood education began as a nanny, where she worked closely
with families who introduced her to the Montessori philosophy. From the very beginning,
she felt a deep and personal connection to the Montessori method. As someone with
dyslexia, Rachel was especially drawn to the tactile, hands-on nature of Montessori
materials—like tracing sandpaper letters and using number rods—which make learning
concrete, accessible, and confidence-building for all children.
Rachel lives in the Columbia City neighborhood with her husband and their two beloved
dogs. Outside the classroom, she enjoys gardening, reading, and spending time with friends
in the cozy, joy-filled home they’ve created together.
We’re so grateful to have Rachel as part of our Grasshopper Montessori community. Her
warmth, wisdom, and heartfelt connection to the Montessori philosophy make her a true
gift to our team and to the children she guides each day.
